Dr. Ekiert is a microbiologist and biochemist whose research focuses on bacterial and parasite cell biology. He studies fundamental cellular and molecular processes ranging from lipid transport and virulence factors in bacteria, to invasion mechanisms in microsporidian parasites and the evolution of a minimal eukaryotic cell.
